Defense Nutrition Ori Hofmekler discusses what's lacking in most fitness programs. I want to talk to you about your fitness. If you are like most people, going to the gym and doing your own routine— bench press, rest, military press, rest, talk in between—I can tell you that you are just wasting your time. Let's look at your fitness like you look at business. It must play a purpose, and currently virtually all modern fitness programs do not play any purpose. Ask yourself exactly why you are doing it. Is it because you want to lose weight? Or is it because you want to gain some muscle? Or is it because you want to be more attractive? These are all purposes, but on the big spectrum these purposes are meaningless. There is only one purpose to what you should do when you train, and it's not defined. In fact the fitness industry doesn't even want you to know about it. There's only one purpose. It has to benefit your survival. It has to help you better survive. If it doesn't, it doesn't make sense.
